Falcon Drilling Adds Three New Rigs

Falcon Drilling Adds Three New Rigs

Falcon drilling company, which provides drilling services in the Marcellus Shale, has announced that they purchased three new drilling rigs.  These rigs will be operated in the Marcellus and Utica plays which brings additional drilling capacity to the region.

When Falcon Drilling adds three new rigs, this is a positive sign for the oil and gas industry in the Marcellus Shale.  An investment by a drilling rig company shows that there is increasing demand for drilling rigs in the area.  This will translate into higher amounts of drilling taking place which means news jobs and a better local economy.  Falcon drilling previously operated 10 rigs in the Marcellus Shale region and will now have 13 rigs at it’s disposal.  Falcon can now work with more operators in the region or add rigs for their existing operators.

Impact on Mineral Owners

As a mineral owner, it’s important to keep and eye on what’s happening in your area.  If drilling activity is decreasing and rigs are pulling out of the area, this would have a negative impact on leasing mineral rights.  Since Falcon drilling has decided to purchase three new rigs to service operators in the area, this is a positive sign and shows that Marcellus Drilling is not only holding steady, but adding additional capacity.

If you’re  a mineral owner who is interesting in leasing mineral rights or selling mineral rights, new drilling capacity in the area shows that there is demand for your property.   You should understand the factors that affect the value of your mineral rights before making any decisions about whether to lease or sell is the right decision for you.  If you have questions or concerns about your mineral rights, don’t hesitate to fill out the form below and we will be happy to help you out!
